Bethany of the Beloveds
a new monastic way
This is a community in the early stages of becoming.
It began not as an organization, but as a long internal process—years of questioning, silence, study, and listening. In time, a shared clarity emerged around a way of life rooted in prayer, meditation, community life, learning and transformation through practice rather than information alone.
A small group of founding members, as well as a board of trustees, now meets regularly with the founder to give form to this impulse. Together we are shaping a Way of Life, testing it in lived experience, and discerning what it means to live in a contemporary form of monastic commitment that is not bound to inherited institutional models.
Joining the founding members, new members in discernment have entered into Pilot and Membership in Discernment circles, where the shared inner work and way of life are being explored in real time.
An invitation to begin as a member in discernment is open to those who feel called to enter into an exploration of this work.
This is an attempt to live a disciplined, reflective, and communal life in a contemporary context.
It is grounded in:
Regular prayer and meditative practice, and a community that shares this.
Developing a Way of Life based on a renewal of Faith, Love and Hope through the transformative pathways of obedience, chastity and poverty
Mutual discernment rather than fixed doctrine
A commitment to inner transformation through lived experience
This is not a fully formed impulse. It is an inspired practice of attention and intention, emerging through those who participate in it.
This is not a completed religious order. It is not a fixed institution with settled structures or final forms. It is not a teaching system with a defined body of doctrine. Its shape is still forming through practice, relationship, and time.
Participation at this stage is exploratory. Those who enter are invited to do so with openness, patience, and a willingness to participate in something that cannot yet be fully defined.
If you would like to inquire further or receive information about participating, you are welcome to be in touch.
